Duration: 4 Day Minibreak
For almost 2000 years, York has played a leading role in England’s
history. Even without its crowning glory - a cathedral of breathtaking
grandeur - it would be a city of outstanding beauty, interest
and ageless charm.
ITINERARY:
Friday: An early start for our journey to our Hotel in York. Stops
will be made on the way for refreshments.
Saturday: The day is free for you to explore York with its lovely
Minster with its stained glass windows, narrow streets called
the Shambles, York Museum and Heritage Centre.
Sunday: After breakfast, we take a ride on the North Yorkshire
Moors Railway from Goatland (Adensfield in Heartbeat and Hogsmeade
in Harry Potter films) to Whitby with its beautiful 13th century
Abbey. Old cobbled streets, picturesque houses and a sandy beach
with 199 steps leading down from the Abbey to the old town where
you will find yourself in a shoppers’ paradise.
Monday: We say farewell to our hotel and York and make our way
home calling at Ashbourne in Derbyshire, known as the gateway
to Dovedale. There is much to do in Ashbourne. We estimate to
be back home mid evening.
