Eastbourne is a unique seaside resort with an amazing range
of activities. Everything is within easy reach, with the seafront
promenade leading virtually straight onto the foot of the beautiful
Eastbourne Downs and Beachy Head. The town centre is just a few
yards walk from the centrally located Victorian Pier.
ITINERARY:
Saturday: We board the coach for our journey to Eastbourne, stopping
at Alfriston which has a wide range of shops, and many beautiful
views within the village. Looking at the Star Inn can keep you
occupied for quite a while with its wooden figures dating back
to the 1500s. The High Street is a beautiful example of an old
Sussex village, and has many Historic buildings. Then on to Beachy
Head with its dramatic white cliffs and gently undulating downs,
an area of outstanding natural beauty and tranquillity which belies
its proximity to the busy south eastern towns of England. We arrive
at our Hotel early afternoon which will give you some free time
to look around Eastbourne.
Sunday: After breakfast we board the coach for our journey home
calling at Tunbridge Wells and then to Ashdown Forest and Winnie
the Pooh country. Originally a deer hunting forest in Norman times,
Ashdown Forest is now the largest free public access space in
the South East. We estimate to arrive home early evening.
ACCOMMODATION:
Our Hotel is the Best Western York House Hotel, Eastbourne. It
has the most stunning seafront position, just 400 yards from Eastbourne
pier, 20 yards from the gently sloping beach and close to the
Town Centre. All bedrooms are en-suite and have colour TV, Iron,
Radio and tea/coffee making facilities. The Hotel has Restaurant,
bar/lounge, a swimming pool and a lift.
